eRoom is a tool which has been chosen by RENAULT in order to improve the quality, cost and speed of performance through optimized exchange.
Access is in general on a Renault invitation basis. Invitations are sent by RENAULT coordinators. But you can request an access right to a specific room, using the SPS process available on the Portal left menu, indicating the room name and the coordinator name as the Renault contact.

1- What is eRoom?
|
As part of its project monitoring processes, RENAULT may ask you to take part in discussions and exchanges via this tool: eRoom is a document sharing tool implemented by RENAULT. eRoom is the name which has been given to the solution (DOCUMENTUM) chosen by RENAULT-NISSAN. This solution allows the RENAULT-NISSAN teams to work with their suppliers and partner with no time or place constraints. It is secure web-based internet work tool which enables teams to communicate and share documents, and makes coordinating a team's work far easier.
It notably enables users to : - Share documents such as texts, Excel Files, Slides, Planning documents, 3D view (Okyz)... with update contents,
- Exchange alerts and notifications,
- Consult regularly update files, databases, schedule,
- Carry out project management tasks,
- Favour the use of approvals as part of the decision making process,
- Manage simple operations (Task monitoring, LUP, Project schedule,...).
It is free of charge for a partner or suppliers to work in an eRoom.

2- Security and confidentiality
|
eRoom can be considered to be a "virtual desktop" reserved for a team of people who are strickly identified by a personal IPN number (RENAULT username) and authentificated by a personal password.
RENAULT has taken the decision to work on a one Room one Supplier basis for confidentiality and security reasons.
Extract of the eRoom Charter: Renault people only can be nominated as an external Room coordinateur. This guarantees: the respect of the contract (CAU: Portal Terms and Conditions), that involves Renault in insuring the personal data confidentiality. the group content responsability, as any business application. In some particular cases, such as a whole sudcontracted activity, an exemption process is implemented. And each supplier coordinator of an eRoom, will have his coordinator rights removed if his company is not authorized.

3- Technical prerequisites
|
eRoom works using a WEB browser with Internet access.
In order to be able to work with eRoom, your computer must have the following characteristics : - An Internet connection of 512kbit/s or above,
- Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6a), 2000 Professional ou XP
- Internet Explorer 5.0, IE 6.0 & 7.0 are approuved by Renault IT Dept.

Warning! no ENX access (European Network eXchange). The plug-in: Before login, eRoom proposes to install a small component (plug-in) on your PC. Before accepting this installation, you have to check that your PC environment meets these technical prerequisites. If it's the case and if you wish, choose the "eRoom Plug-in software" option.
In order to feel at ease as soon as you start using the tool, we suggest you take a look at the user guide. If your PC environment does not meet the technical prerequisites, choose the "Just the Web browser ".

4- How do I access a Room ?
